You can discover a treasure trove of Byzantine art. As we drive through the sleepy villages of the Solea Valley, we will take the opportunity to have a coffee break in traditional surroundings. We will visit two important Byzantine churches in Galata village: Panagia Podithou, with its Italo-Byzantine paintings, and the church of Archangel Michael, completely painted in the post-Byzantine style of the early 16-th century.
The village Kakopetria is our next stop. Here the old quarter of the village has been declared a protected area, and traditional houses have been restored. After lunch we will move on to one of the most beautiful old villages in Cyprus: the village of Omodhos, which is famous for its true Cypriot architecture, its wine press, known as "Linos", and the monastery of the Holy Cross.
